Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers

Give yourself the young, natural smile you’ve always wanted with porcelain veneers. The ideal state of the art in modern dentistry, veneers can correct a number of dental issues including:

  • Discoloured teeth
  • Gaps
  • Overcrowded or narrow smiles
  • Chipped or broken teeth
  • Misaligned teeth

Veneers are hand-made, wafer thin (0.3mm-1.0mm) porcelain shells that bond the surface of existing teeth, and are designed to perfectly simulate the look and feel of your natural teeth.
As one of the most experienced and highly regarded cosmetic dentists in the UK, Dr Oliver can help your smile reach its fullest potential, regardless of any damage or imperfections.

Why choose Porcelain veneers?

There are many materials that dental veneers can be made from, and all come with varying appearances, lifespans and bio-compatibility. There are may options, all with fancy names, that claim to be the best but, in reality, only hand-layered glass porcelain veneers can fully integrate with the tooth, with minimally invasive and optimal aesthetic results.
Of all the materials dental veneers can be made from, porcelain has the best and longest track record and, unlike industrially manufactured alternatives, require intensive effort and an exceptional level of craftmanship to produce. Nature never takes any shortcuts and neither do we when it comes to creating naturally beautiful aesthetics.

What are the benefits of porcelain veneers?

There is a common misconception that porcelain veneers are weaker than natural teeth but, when bonded correctly, the strength and durability of a veneer is comparable to that of an untouched tooth. Indeed, due to his meticulous approach to veneers, Dr Oliver has many patients who have had their veneers for more than 20 years.
Unlike procedures like crowning, veneers require very little in the way of tooth reduction, often as little as 3% compared to 75% for crowns. Making best use of advances in material science and bonding technology, porcelain veneers conform to what is known as the biomimetic principle of dentistry. Put simply, it is the choice of procedures and materials based on their ability to mimic natural teeth, while protecting and preserving them. How much do porcelain veneers cost?

Dr Oliver uses a unique creative methodology for all his veneer patients, to give you a long-lasting smile that’s as individual as you are. As such, prices for veneers vary from person to person. However, for cases of four or more veneers, Dr Oliver is able to offer a set price of £795 per veneer. Steps to Your Perfect Smile

Smile Design

Stage One: Smile Design

First Dr Oliver will take a photograph of your existing teeth and carefully listen to what you are unhappy with and how you would like your smile to change. Then, using his clinical expertise, many years of experience and the latest imaging equipment, we design a simulation of your new tailor-made smile. This takes place at your initial consultation.

Smile Model

Stage Two: Smile Model

Your digital smile design is now transformed into a smile model to give you a detailed, 3-dimensional simulation of your new smile. You can study this from all angles to ensure that every detail is correct. Only when you are totally happy with the design do we proceed to the next stage.

Smile Prototypes

Stage Three: Smile Prototypes

At this stage Dr Oliver under local anaesthetic will carefully and precisely sculpt your teeth to the required design. He will then fit prototype (temporary) veneers to your teeth. These are an exact replica of the smile model.

This is your new smile in temporary form and is a dress rehearsal/ test drive of the smile before the final veneers are made.

This allows you to see the smile in your mouth and ask the opinion of friends and family and allow you to make changes if need be to the length, shape and size of the smile or each individual tooth.

This allows you to keep in control of the final design of your smile and gives you confidence that Dr Oliver is providing you with the smile you have always wanted.

When you are happy with the temporaries their design is then transformed to the actual making of your final smile.

Your Perfect Smile

Stage Four: Your Perfect Smile

Finally your perfect smile is ready for you, duplicating the planned design. The final porcelain restorations will be more life like/natural looking than the prototypes as they are made from the latest high-quality porcelain, and will have been hand-sculpted by our exclusive master craftsmen technicians in Italy,to make your smile perfect but natural at the same time. They will produce for you a perfect natural smile or a Hollywood smile following the design you have chosen. Now you can go out and show off your beautiful new smile!
